Becky Haas will take the oath of office as the mayor of Richmond on Monday.

At the same meeting, the city of Richmond staff will thank former Mayor Evalyn Moore for her service to the community.

“We are thanking Mayor Evalyn Moore for her vision, commitment and leadership to the citizens of Richmond over the last eight years,” said City Manager Terri Vela. “Mayor Moore has guided the Richmond Commission and leadership team through the execution of a number of initiatives in the City’s Comprehensive Master Plan during these years such as the annexation of 117 acres of land, once occupied by the iconic Fort Bend Country Club, into the city limits; the focus on implementing drainage, street widening and sidewalks along Collins Road north to George Park; and guiding the continued progress on the Quiet Zone and Wayside Horns project, just to name a few.”
