Early voting | Early voting in the special July 14 run-off election will take place from June 29-July 10 and Election Day, which is the last day you can vote, is on July 14.

July 4th closings | The city of Richmond will be closed Friday, July 3, for Independence Day, a city holiday for employees. City Hall is located at 402 Morton St. Essential services, such as fire and police, will continue to operate. Please call 281-342-5456 for further information.

Fish Fry Fridays | The Rosenberg Knights of Columbus is resuming its popular fish fry Fridays fundraiser. The first Friday will be June 26. The fundraisers are also scheduled for July 24, Aug. 28, Sept. 25 and Oct. 23. Meals consist of fried catfish, French fries, pinto beans and hushpuppies. Due to COVID-19 concerns, only drive-thru will be offered. Serving begins at 5 p.m. and ends at 7:30 p.m. at Columbus Club Hall, 2007 Kay Cee Drive, Rosenberg. Cost is $11 per plate. Cash, credit card or check accepted.

Needville tax office closed | Due to effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Needville tax office will continue to remain closed to the public. Tax office staff will collect and process transactions received through the mail and drop boxes at both locations. The Richmond office is offering full-service auto and property tax processing at their normal business hours.

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 24 | LCISD will host a Virtual Teacher Job Fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Applicants can talk to campus representatives real-time in a live virtual setting and explore teaching opportunities in LCISD. Pre-registration for the event is required. To register, see job openings and to fill out an application, go to the district’s website at LCISD.org.

THURSDAY, JUNE 25 | Save the virtual date to join Catholic Charities’ first virtual fundraising event, “Together in Spirit,” on Facebook Live on Thursday, June 25, at 7 p.m. Hosted by Catholic Charities’ CEO Cynthia N. Colbert and Board Chair Ellen Ginty, the event will feature a special message and blessing by His Eminence Daniel Cardinal DiNardo, Video Mission Moments of Catholic Charities programs in action, and an exciting virtual auction.

SATURDAY, JULY 11 | The 17th annual Wallis Legion Craft Show will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, July 12, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the American Legion Hall Post 200, 330 Legion Road, Wallis. Over 30 vendors offering a wide variety of handmade crafts and canned goods. The Legion will be selling hamburgers and barbecue sandwiches for lunch each day and the Ladies Auxiliary will have a bake sale. Admission is $1 for hourly door prizes. SATURDAY, AUG. 15 | The Needville Fire Department will host a dance at Needville Columbus Hall from 8-12 p.m. with “Steel Country” performing the dance music. Cost is $10 per person. On Sunday, Aug. 16, the department will host its annual barbecue serving from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at $10 a plate with all the trimmings at Needville Columbus Hall. An auction is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. and a raffle at end of auction with a top prize a Kubota Side-by-Side ATV and over $15,000 worth of prizes.
