Fort Bend County sheriff’s Det. Kevin White has recovered from COVID-19 after a long battle, the sheriff’s office announced Monday.
In late February, White was feeling ill and tested positive for COVID-19, Sheriff Eric Fagan reported.
White was later hospitalized due to COVID-19 complications, Fagan added.
White spent many weeks in the intensive care unit before moving to a rehabilitation center.
On Wednesday April 21, at 11 a.m. White will be discharged from the hospital and allowed to go home.
FBCSO deputies, detectives and members of the command staff will be at Encompass Health, at 1325 Highway 6 in Sugar Land, to greet him.
“This has been a long road for Detective White and we couldn’t be happier to see him well enough to go home,” Fagan said.
“Our focus remains on doing our part to ensure he continues his path to a full recovery.”
