The city of Rosenberg could take on an additional $2.2 million in debt. But not without first conducting a public hearing.
At the Rosenberg City Council meeting Tuesday, council members will hold a second public hearing on the proposed annexation of Municipal Utility District No. 66.
The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall, located at 2110 Fourth St.
The public is invited to comment on the annexation proposal. Residents wishing to speak at the public hearing must sign up in advance. According to city staff, property owners in MUD 66 were notified about the hearing on July 5.
In addition to the required public hearings for the annexation to proceed, the city must receive consent to the annexation through a petition signed by more than 50% of the homeowners in the MUD.
