Three people were killed Monday in a 4-vehicle accident near Beasley, authorities reported.
According to the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office, the fatal accidents occurred around 1 p.m. at Vincik Ehlert Road and FM 360, an intersection known for accidents.
Authorities said a four-door Nissan was traveling west on Vincik Ehlert Road and ran the stop sign at the intersection and was struck by an 18-wheeler traveling south on FM 360 and then by a box truck traveling north on FM 360.
The car’s passengers were ejected from their vehicle on impact and killed, deputies reported. Their names have not been released as of 5 p.m. Tuesday.
Authorities said the 18-wheeler traveling south lost control after striking the Nissan and traveled into the path of oncoming traffic where it struck another 18-wheeler traveling north. Both trucks caught fire and burned.
The truck that hit the Nissan was destroyed by fire but the driver, Hugo Orellana, 45, was able to escape and was taken to Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital for treatment. The driver of the second truck was killed, authorities reported. The driver of the box truck, Johnson Brackins, 53, was uninjured.
The roadway was blocked for several hours.
