A Fort Bend County grand jury has indicted a Wharton woman accused of striking a DPS trooper with her automobile in March.

Christie Ann Viktorin, 29, faces up to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine if convicted of the third-degree felony offense of accident causing injury.

Viktorin was arrested March 13 after she allegedly struck a DPS trooper with her vehicle on U.S. 59 near Greatwood and left the scene, authorities reported.

The crash was reported about 1:05 a.m. at the Brazos River bridge.

A spokesman for the Department of Public Safety said the trooper was conducting a traffic stop when a vehicle hit him and then sped away.

The trooper survived the hit-and-run.
