Head coach Brian Martinez always has the Travis High School tennis team playing strong throughout the year.

The Tigers are now focused on individual play during the midpoint of the spring schedule.

At the Alief Tournament, junior Emily Nguyen and sophomore Kelly Chang combined to win the girls consolation championship.

At the Henry Tran Alief ISD Tournament, senior Dhavan Dayananda and junior Rodniel Senson were the finalists in the boys’ singles A consolation bracket.

In the girls’ doubles A bracket, junior Emily Nguyen and sophomore Kelly Chang were consolation champions.

Senior Katie Xie finished in second place in the girls’ singles B bracket at Alief.

Sophomore Savannah Hatfield and senior Dylan Twente were the consolation bracket winners in the mixed doubles at the Alief Tournament.

At the Cy-Fair ISD Varsity Tournament, senior Dhavan Dayananda and junior Alexia Hampson won the mixed doubles B consolation bracket.

Spring tennis is currently suspended by the UIL with the return date slated for some time after May 4 for all UIL-sponsored events.
