Members of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wallis are preparing for their annual fundraiser on Sunday, Sept. 8.
The benefit will include a chicken fried chicken dinner for $10 and a huge silent auction to raise money for Lutheran Missions. The fundraiser will be held at the Columbus Club Hall, formerly called Knights of Columbus Hall, 703 Columbus Road in Wallis, just around the corner from St. Paul’s. A short, special worship service will kick off the events at 9 a.m. in the hall.
The dine-in or take-out meal will include chicken fried chicken and gravy, buttered potatoes, green beans, coleslaw, and iced tea, with pastries sold separately. Serving time is from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Tickets may be purchased ahead of time from members or can be bought at the door.
The silent auction, sponsored by the St. Paul’s Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, will include many handmade, homecrafted, home-canned, and home-baked goods, such as dill pickles, sauerkraut, jellies, pastries, as well as beautiful crafts, plants, decorative arrangements, and Pastor Ray’s wood art.
