Richmond police are asking for help in identifying a man involved in a daylight robbery that occurred in a downtown parking lot.

On Monday at approximately 9:30 a.m. officers were dispatched to Cricket Wireless, located in the 1000 block of Jackson Street, to investigate a robbery. An employee of this business was walking to her vehicle with the weekend deposits when she was approached by the man who demanded the money, police said.

The victim ran into a neighboring business where the man followed her, continuing to demand the money. Fearing for her life the victim gave him the money bag, Lt. Lowell Neinast said. The victim did not see a weapon during the robbery, but stated the man appeared to be holding something under his clothing.

The robber is described as a black man, late 20s or early 30s, heavy set with a beard.

He was wearing a black jacket, gray sweatpants and a dark stocking cap. Detectives are requesting anyone with information on the robber or crime to contact police at 281-342-2849 or Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers at 281-342-TIPS (8477).
