Do not forget the burn ban. This means no burning anything at any time. We are still under a burn ban, even with the rain we are getting now. Conditions are still very dry. If the Fire Department or the Fire Marshal is called, you will most likely receive a ticket.

Remembering 9/11, 18 years ago: A day the world stood still. We mourned as one and we were kinder, more patient, we held our loved ones more tightly, we embraced each other more frequently, we appreciated our lives, friends, family, more — we came together in so many ways. The sadness for me 18 years later is not just the horrific events of that day — but that we seem to have forgotten all that we should have learned from that day — maybe tomorrow we can take a moment after we honor all those who were lost and affected and just be nicer! As a nation fill with hate, we need to get back to the basics. More time away from our phones, social media and the tv.

What would you like to see done with Village of Pleak building after the fire department moves into their new station? The possibilities are endless. Send emails to pleakvillage@yahoo.com or call City Hall with suggestions.
