A 48-year-old woman and her 11-yearold son were found dead in their Greatwood home Tuesday afternoon, and the husband’s body was discovered more than 100 miles away, Sugar Land police reported.
Investigators believe the husband, 53, may have killed his wife and son at their home in the 85200 block of Evening Light Drive before driving to Guadalupe County and killing himself.
The deaths came to the attention of law enforcement after the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office contacted Sugar Land PD Tuesday morning to report a Sugar Land man was found dead in their jurisdiction from what appeared to be a suicide.
The man was identified as Richard James Logan. Sugar Land police attempted to notify Logan’s wife, who lives on Evening Light Drive.
“After several unsuccessful attempts, a family member contacted a neighbor who provided police access into the house,” a spokesperson for the Sugar Land PD reported. “An adult female and an 11-year-old boy were located inside. Both had died of gunshot wounds.”
The woman was identified as Diana Lynn Logan. Richard and Diana were the married parents of the 11-year-old boy, police reported. All three lived at the house. An older daughter was off at college at the time of the killings.
“Police are investigating the possibility that the suicide in Guadalupe County may be related to the double homicide in Sugar Land,” the spokesperson said
