Fort Bend County commissioners will approve the early voting schedule for the runoff special election for the Texas House seat in District 28.

Republican businessman Gary Gates and Democratic educator Dr. Eliz Markowitz will be in the runoff.

At Tuesday’s meeting at the Fort Bend County Courthouse, commissioners will approve an early voting schedule from Tuesday, Jan. 21 to Friday, Jan. 24 at five locations, including Bowie Middle School in Richmond and the Irene Stern Community Center in Fulshear.

The hours for early voting will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Election Day will be on Jan. 28 with voting locations at Bowie Middle School, Briscoe Junior High School, Gallery Furniture on Grand Parkway, the Stern Community Center and the Orchard City Hall. The election day hours are also 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The runoff election is to fill the unexpired term of Dr. John Zerwas, who resigned in September. Both Gates and Markowitz have filed to run in November for the new term.
