Wright honored by fellow masons

Milton Wright, Past Master of Morton Lodge No. 72, is recognized by his peers and the Grand Lodge of Texas for his dedication of 50-years of service to the fraternity. On Oct. 13, on behalf of the Grand Lodge of Texas, Morton Lodge No. 72 A.F. & A.M. of Richmond honored Milton Wright for his selfless dedication and 50-years of service to the Craft.

Brother Wright was initiated into Freemasonry and made a Master Mason in San Andres Masonic Lodge No. 170 in 1968 and 1969, respectively.

Brother Wright was installed as the Worshipful Master of the San Andres Masonic Lodge in 1973 and was appointed by the Grand Lodge of Texas as the District Deputy Grand Master of Masonic District No. 104 in 1974.

In 1983, Brother Wright affiliated with Morton Masonic Lodge No. 72, and in consequence of his leadership skills and good works, was elected and installed as the Worshipful Master in 1987. Brother Wright’s legacy as a public servant is noteworthy as he served this great state as a Texas Ranger and one of only two men to serve Fort Bend County as a four-term sheriff from Jan. 1, 1997 to Dec. 31, 2012.
