Victor Prentice Gayle, Jr., fondly known as “Uncle Vic” and “Papa Vic”, 88, of Beasley, Texas passed away on September 9, 2020. He was born on September 3, 1932 in Bryan, Texas to the late Victor P. Gayle, Sr. and Adelia Ganter Gayle.

Vic is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Patricia Phelan Gayle; daughters, Pamela Roden (Dave), Katy Gayle, Margaret Gayle, and Sharon Gayle (Lewis Huddleston); grandchildren, Matthew Harris (Danielle Cockrell), Mandy Otto (Travis), Michelle Landa (Jorge), Wyatt Roden, Danny Wilkinson Jr., Donnie Wilkinson (Adrianna), Shannon Fitzgerald, John Fitzgerald, Cody Fitzgerald (Kristin Rowell), James Camara, III (Gabrielle), and Ian Camara; 16 great grandchildren; along with extended family and friends.

Vic Gayle was a member of the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo for over 40 years and Lifetime Committeeman on the Corral Club Committee. He was also a long time member of the Hold’em & Hit’em Club. For many years he participated in the Harris County Fair Trail Ride and the Salt Grass Trail Ride. He also volunteered at the Pasadena Livestock Show & Rodeo.

He was a dedicated volunteer and Lifetime Director at The Houston Farm & Ranch Club. He participated in the Farm and Ranch Appreciation Day trail rides and ran the Special Children’s Day events annually. He was a charter member of Farm and Ranch Club wagon 6.

He was an honorary member of the Katy Cowgirls and one of the best tractor drivers around.
