Rosenberg City Council members have been meeting inside the council chambers for less than a month since the COVID-19 pandemic shut down the city.

But on Tuesday, council members will hold the special city council meeting and subsequent workshop meeting via teleconference.

“There will not be a meeting at City Hall to physically attend, but the public can attend virtually,” Communications Director Tanya Kveton told The Herald on Monday.

“With the rising COVID-19 count in the community, the city felt it was in the best interest of everyone involved to hold the meeting via video conference.”

According to Kveton, numbers skyrocketed from 61-80 positive cases on Friday afternoon.

Kveton said there are no positive cases within City Hall.

The special city council meeting will begin at 6:15 p.m. and the workshop meeting will begin immediately after.

Citizens can still ask questions via letters, telephone or email.
