Funeral Services for Roy Gene Gaubatz, 75, of La Vernia, TX, are set for 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 3, 2019, at Garmany & Carden Funeral Directors Chapel, 1201 Fourth Street, Rosenberg, TX 77471, with burial following in Davis Greenlawn Cemetery, Rosenberg, TX 77471.

Visitation will be from 1 — 2:00 PM Wednesday, for one hour preceding the funeral service.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Matthew Carter, Wesley Gaubatz, Wyatt Gaubatz, Ronnie Gaubatz, Kole Wilburn, Stephen Gardner, and Allen Mushinski.

Roy Gene Gaubatz, devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend passed away on June 29, 2019 in La Vernia, Texas. He was born on February 15, 1944 in Needville, Texas. He was a lifelong member of Needville United Methodist Church and a Master Mason with the Rosenberg chapter of the Masonic Lodge. He farmed cotton most of his life in Fort Bend County, and later made a business for himself in sewage disposal for nearly thirty years. He retired in 2015, moved to La Vernia to sit on the back porch and watch the sunset with his dog.

Roy is survived by his daughter Elisa Gaubatz Carter and husband Michael Carter, son Royce Aaron Gaubatz and wife Rebecca Gaubatz, step-son Stephen Charles Gardner and wife Julie Gardner, and sister,Violet Vacek, as well as his grandchildren Sydney and husband Kole, Matthew, Wyatt, Wesley, JC, Corey, and Hailey, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Charlean Carpenter Gaubatz, parents Elisa Wehring Gaubatz and John Gaubatz, sister Lavern Pollock, brother Sterling Gaubatz, and step-son Robert Gardner.

Donations may be given in his memory to Rosenberg Masonic Lodge #881, 25507 Southwest Freeway, Rosenberg, TX 77471, or to Needville United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 26, Needville, TX 77461-0026.
