A 51-year-old Richmond man was arrested Saturday in connection with the death of a motorcycle rider, authorities reported.

Michelle Keith was charged with intoxication manslaughter after the vehicle he was driving hit Billy Poe, 66, the Texas Department of Public Safety reported.

The collision occurred on Pitts Roard around 9:45 a.m., investigators reported.

Troopers said Keith was driving a p 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe north on Pitts Road when it traveled into the southbound lane, striking a 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle head-on. ​

Keith was injured but refused medical treatment at the scene, the DPS reported.

Poe, also of Richmond, was transported to OakBend Hospital by Fort Bend EMS where he was pronounced deceased by OakBend Hospital medical staff.

Keith was booked into the Fort Bend County jail.

Intoxication manslaughter is a second-degree felony offense punishable by up to 20 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
