Needville ISD’s bands will present their annual Spring Concert Series the second and third Mondays in May in the high school auditorium.

The high school band performs at 7 p.m. Monday, May 10, and the middle school and junior high bands will take the stage at 7 p.m. Monday, May 17.

End-of-year awards banquets for the high school have been canceled this year due to the pandemic, so awards will be presented during the band concerts.

“We are looking forward to this event, as it will be the first spring concert for our grades six through eight students,” said Director Lance Finley. “COVID protocols prevented us from having a public Christmas concert in December and we are excited to perform in the Needville High School auditorium.”

Finley said the high school concert will consist of selections performed at this year's UIL contest, as well as popular selections.

Each student will be issued four tickets for family members and friends to attend the concerts, and there is no admission fee. Audience members are required to wear masks and will be grouped in sections.

“We encourage our band families to attend this Spring Concert performance. This will be the first formal concert of the school year for our band students,” Finley said. “Additionally, we'll celebrate our graduating seniors, and award and recognize several students for their accomplishments throughout the year.”
