Mutton Bustin' sign-up is Aug. 13

A mutton bustin’ rider hangs on for dear life during last year’s Fort Bend County Fair Rodeo.

Load the sheep, slip on the chaps, and get ready to ride! Mutton Bustin’ returns to the 2019 Fort Bend County Fair and sign up begins on Tuesday, Aug. 13, at 8 a.m. in Building B at the fairgrounds.

Children 4-7 years of age and who weigh less than 55 pounds the day of the competition are eligible to compete.

In the past few years, parents have camped outside of the fairgrounds to ensure their child’s chance at getting entered.

The first 100 qualified applicants who turn in an official entry form, entry fee, and notarized release of liability will be accepted.

Only official entry forms will be accepted.

Absolutely no entries will be accepted prior to 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug.13.

Entries will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.

All contestants will receive a buckle donated by Chris Dostal’s Designs in Fine Jewelry and Dostal’s Awards & Recognitions and the winner of each rodeo will receive a Grand Champion Buckle.

Mutton Bustin is a fan-favorite and everyone is welcome to cheer on their favorite cowboy or cowgirl.

Entry forms and rules can be found at
