Countertenor John Holiday of Rosenberg went live on social media Tuesday sharing with family, friends, and fans the moment Fort Bend County Judge KP George presented him with a proclamation declaring March 31 as John Holiday Day in Fort Bend County.

March 31 is Holiday’s birthday.

Holiday, a Rosenberg native, was a recent finalist on Season 19 of NBC’s The Voice.

While well-known in the opera realm for his works, Holiday’s appearance on The Voice launched him into the limelight.

He, in turn, shared that spotlight with his hometown, repeatedly describing himself as a “little country boy from Rosenberg,” and frequently giving credit for his success to his family, benefactors, teachers, and community leaders.

“John Holiday has left a lasting impact for our community,” George said.
