People who enjoy craft activities or who would like to take up a new hobby are invited to a “Monochromatic Acrylic-Painting Workshop” at Fort Bend County Libraries’ Albert George Branch Library on Saturday, September 14, from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm, in the Meeting Room of the library, located at 9230 Gene Street in Needville.

Nell Hurta, an instructor trained in the “Bob Ross” method, will demonstrate how to create a monochromatic work of art with acrylic paints. The workshop will focus on making a spooky tree scene for the Halloween season.

This workshop is intended for people aged 16 and up, of all artistic abilities. Materials for the workshop are provided through the generous support of the Friends of the Albert George Branch Library.

Samples of the library’s instructional books, crafting magazines, and online resources and websites on various arts and craft projects will be available.

The program is free and open to the public. Seating is limited, however, and reservations are required. To register online at the library’s website (, click on “Events,” select “Albert George Branch Library,” and find the program. Participants may also register by calling the library at 979-793-4270, or by visiting the library.
