Fort Bend County Libraries’ University Branch Library will present a “Journaling & Meditation Workshop” on Saturday, June 29, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm, in Meeting Room 1 of the library, located at 14010 University Blvd in Sugar Land, on the UH campus.

Certified yoga instructor Ashley Schmidt will demonstrate how journaling can be used as a form of meditation. Hear about the benefits of journaling and discover best practices to incorporate for maximum effect. Learn how to identify thought patterns that hinder us from realizing our best life, and discover ways we can consciously change our internal dialogue to create the life we want.

Schmidt teaches yoga in Richmond. She is a registered yoga teacher who has attained her 200-hour yoga teacher certification.

The program is free and open to the public. For more information, see the Fort Bend County Libraries website (, or call the University Branch Library (281-633-5100) or the library system’s Communications Office (281-633-4734).
