Fort Bend County Libraries’ Albert George Branch Library, 9230 Gene Street in Needville, presents a variety of free children’s programs — Toddler Time, Story Time and School-Age Programs — every month. These programs are free and open to the public. The summer schedule for June is as follows:

Toddler Time, which meets every Wednesday at 10:15 a.m., offers caregiver/child activities, stories and songs for older babies, from 12 to 36 months of age. Program dates are June 12, 19 and 26.

Story Time, which meets every Thursday at 10:15 a.m., provides stories, movies and age-appropriate craft activities for pre-school children, from 3 to 6 years of age. Program dates are June 6, 13, 20 and 27.

The School-Age Programs — crafts, movies, stories and more for school-aged children in grades 1 through 5 — will begin at 2 p.m. each Wednesday during the summer. These programs are made possible through the generous support of the Friends of the Albert George Branch Library. The June schedule is as follows:

June 12 – The Wonderful World of Bubbles. Learn about simple math and science and the art of bubbles when Shelly McBubbles creates mind-blowing bubbles, including giant bubbles, bubble chains and a cube bubble. Don’t miss her surprise grand finale!

June 19 – Aliens: Escape from Earth (presented by ScienceTellers). Enjoy an interactive story utilizing six unique experiments that demonstrate changing states of matter using chemical reactions, launching a potato using Boyle’s law and using air to transfer energy.

June 26 – Minute 2 Win It. Participate in games and contests using ordinary house-hold objects.

The Middle School Programs, which begin at 2 p.m. every Thursday in the summer, are designed for youth in grades 6 and up. Materials for these programs are made possible through the generous support of the Friends of the Albert George Branch Library. The June schedule is as follows:
