Butterflies in Richmond

Richmond business owner Becky Haas takes a photo of the butterlies congregating on her door front on Friday. The paper butterflies are part of Big Art Day, the Texas Art Education Association’s attempt to engage all art educators, their students and communities in a single day art event across the state to engage in communities across the state. These butterflies were made by Lamar Consolidated ISD fifth-grade art classes from a variety of materials, mostly paper plates, and then hanging them all in one place. Come check out all the butterflies between city hall and Third Street on Morton Street before they fly away
