10 TEMPORARY, FULL-TIME FARM LABORERS
needed at Levert-St. John Farms, Inc., 6142A Resweber Highway, St. Martinville, LA 70582 to work from 03/31/2019 to 01/31/ 2020. Pay is $11.33 per hour, 40 hrs per week, 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with 1 hr lunch; during grinding, 7 days a week or 50 hrs. Job duties are: workers will prepare fields for cultivation 20%, manual shovel work 10%, planting/harvesting sugarcane and soybeans 40%, minor maintenance and operation of field equipment 10%, farm field and shop sanitation duties 20%. Worker must be able to lift 50lbs, walk, stoop, bend, reach and kneel repetitively for long periods of time and have 3 months of farm work experience. Work is to be completed in weather from extreme heat to rain and extreme cold. Once hired, all employees may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the employee. Testing positive or failure to comply with the random testing may result in immediate termination from employment. Possibility of work breakdown will not reduce workers three-fourths guarantee over the life of the contract. Employer guarantees a total number of work hours equal to at least three-quarters of the work-days of the total period beginning with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment or the advertised first date of need and ending on date specified in work contract. Work tools, supplies, equipment and housing (U.S. workers who cannot reasonably return to their perm residence at the end of each working day) are employer-provided at no cost. Transportation and subsistence provided after 50% of work contract completed, or earlier if appropriate.
