Join the Fort Bend Museum Docents on Friday, December 4 and Saturday, December 5 for the annual Candlelight Tours of the 1883 John M. Moore home. This year’s theme is “To Grandmother’s House We Go: A 1950s-era Moore Family Christmas.”

“The Moores had grandchildren in the 1950s, so the kids were going to grandmother’s house,” said Candlelight Tours Chairman Letha Wood.

Guests are invited to experience the sights and sounds of a mid-century Christmas during this year’s tours, and each room in the historic home will be decorated with all the trimmings of the season. Complimentary wassail and cookies will also be served. Tours will run from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on December 4 and from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on December 5. Group tours can be arranged during regular Museum hours in the month of December.

Tickets are $6 for adults, $5 for seniors and $4 for children. For more information, visit www.fortbendmuseum.org or call 281-342-6478. The Fort Bend Museum is located at 500 Houston Street in Richmond. The annual Candlelight Tours are sponsored by the Fort Bend Museum Docents and all proceeds benefit the educational and preservation efforts of the Fort Bend Museum.
