The financial fate of the West Fort Bend Management District is in question after Rosenberg Mayor Cynthia McConathy asked city council to consider dropping funding for the district.

I hope everyone had a celebratory 4th of July. Here in Greatwood where fireworks are not sanctioned, there were many aerial displays to watch. Sadly, not only were those launching fireworks trespassing on private property, they left a huge mess behind for someone else to clean up.

Happy summer everyone. With the longest day of the year behind us, we can all look forward to the rest of the hot summer activities ahead of us. Hey, all you that have gardens going strong, be sure and keep them watered well. With all the rain, it was easy, but now it’s time to manually make that water happen. I kept it easy with just planting some tomato. I’m losing some of them to the birds, but am getting some to harvest. The first bite into a fresh BLT and its worth the pain and weeding.

All wedding announcements in the Fort Bend Herald must be submitted within 30 days of the ceremony. It is The Herald’s policy to run these announcements within 30 days of the wedding. Wedding and engagement stories should be submitted in typed form (e-mail or CD preferred,) with a maximum of 350 words.
There is a charge of $65 for an announcement, which can include a black and white photograph to accompany the story. Anniversary announcements, with accompanying “then” and “now” black and white photos, are free, but must be submitted within 21 days of the anniversary.
