Briscoe Junior High Car Bash
Devoni Wardlow’s Critical Thinking Class at Briscoe Junior High got an objective handed to them three weeks ago: rasing money for Pennies for Patients, which benefits the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Houston. So in addition to putting penny jars in classrooms, seventh-grader Daniel Anderson, along with two of his group members, Jacob Clemons and Nicolas Krisiansson, proposed a car bash. Seeking help from his dad, Orin Anderson, Daniel persuaded Riverside Auto Collision off FM 723 in Richmond to donate a car for the cause. On Friday, Briscoe students were allowed to bash the donated car by paying $2 for five hits. Here, Michael Leatherwood drops the sledgehammer on the car. Behind, from left, are Natalie Murphy, Jackie Phung, Chloe Lall, Precious Carbonell, Logan Anderson and Anthony Riojas.
