An unidentified man’s car collided with a truck after running a stop sign at FM 360 and Williams School Road in Needville Friday morning.
Sheila Shifferly of Needville was headed southeast on FM 360 on her way to taking her 4-year-old son Connor to Little Jay’s Day Care when the car hit her vehicle at around 7:15 a.m.
“It was really foggy outside and I was driving really careful,” Shifflerly said. “The guy must have been going 60 miles an hour when he hit my vehicle, and my truck was spinning.”
The impact left both vehicles in a nearby ditch.
The man, driving a new Ford Mustang, was taken to a nearby hospital while Shifflerly and her son, who was strapped to his car seat, were left unharmed. At worst, Shifferly complained of pain in her knees and a hurt ankle.
Shifferly says she gets hesitant every day she takes her son to day care while driving on FM 360.
“This is such a dangerous intersection,” Shifflerly said. “I’m going to have to find a new way to take my son to day care.”
Connor was taken to his day care by one of the state troopers.
“I’m just glad he was strapped tightly in his car seat,” Shifferly said.
