Governmental use of Wi-Fi and updated park policies were just two items approved by the Rosenberg City Council earlier this week.
The conditions of the Wi-Fi usage, detailed in a letter agreement between the City of Rosenberg and CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric, LLC, states, among other things, the city will build a municipally-owned wireless network for non-commercial government use and CenterPoint will grant the city the right to use its utility poles and other facilities to install Wi-Fi equipment.
The city is also responsible for paying for all of the installation and maintenance fees which include any type of modifications to the company’s facilities to accommodate the city’s request.
The agreement is set to last 10 years with the option for an additional five years.
In other areas, the city’s new park policies became effective Wednesday. These policies detail who is eligible for reserving the park, the rules regarding pets, smoking, alcohol use, and the procedure required for park reservations, which are on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Parks implementing these policies include the Brazos Park Pavilion, Riverbend Park Ball Field, Harwood Park Pavilion and Travis Park Pavilions & Ball Fields.
More information on the new park policies may be found contacting the Parks and Recreation Department by calling 832-595-3960.
