Robert E. Monroe Jr., 54, beloved son, father, brother and friend left this life to be with his Lord and loved ones Tuesday, June 23, 2009. Funeral services are 11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 27, 2009, in the chapel of E.P. Compean Funeral Directors. Interment follows in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg.

Visitation is 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, in the chapel preceding the services.

Robert attended Calvary Episcopal School in Richmond and then Lamar CISD, and was a member of the Texas Czech Society. When Robert was young, he built a Harley and traveled a lot while always on an adventure. He built many motorcycles throughout the years and had an answer to any question one would ask. He owned and operated Honey-Do Services and A-Guaranteed Roofing. Robert was self-educated, learning all he could about life and how things worked. He had a very curious mind, very interesting to talk with and always had an opinion.

Robert was a devoted father to his two daughters; he was loving, kind and had a free spirit. He was a friend to many and a father to all. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert E. Monroe; and son, Robert E. Monroe III.

Robert is survived by his daughters, Hanna Jo Monroe and Cady Lynn Monroe; mother, Anne Robinson; sisters, Elizabeth Cockrell and husband, Mike, and Anne Kaye Monroe; and many other family members and friends.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to E.P. Compean Funeral Directors, “Our Family Serving Your Family”, 1223 Sixth St. in Rosenberg, 281-238-4443.

" I was shocked when my sister called to tell me about Bobby's death. I'm so sorry for his family and hope they can find peace at this time.

I was friends with Bobby way back when. All of us would ride motorcycles together. I have not seen him in 30 years but still felt I needed to write something here.

I have lived out of state for years but most of my family is still in the Rosenberg area.

Bobby was a nice guy and fun to be around. I feel horrible that he was called from this life so soon. I know he will be missed.

Blessings,
Sunni "
