Halloween, fall festivals scheduled throughout area

Beasley Elementary School will hold its Fall Fest 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday in the school gym and cafeteria at 7511 Ave. J in Beasley. There will be raffle prizes, bake sale, photo booth, costume contest, food and drinks, clown booth, gross-out booth, silent auction, cake walk and games.


Rosenberg will hold its annual free Boo-berg event for children age 10 and younger from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Seabourne Creek Nature, 3831 Texas 36 South in Rosenberg. Children may come in costume and must be accompanied by an adult. There will be carnival games, sack races, Hula Hoop contests, fitness challenges, Halloween activities, prizes and treats plus free snow cones.


Austin Elementary School will hold a carnival 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at 1630 Pitts Road in Richmond. Tickets will vary in price for concessions, games and activities like the haunted house and hay rides. Call 832-223-1000 for details.

Damon Carnival.

Damon PTA will hold its annual Halloween Carnival with turkey and dressing being served beginning 11 a.m. Saturday at the school. There will be many raffle prizes. To help, call 979-742-3457.

Haunted House.

George Ranch High School sponsors a "Ghost Town" for children in Kindergarten - 8th grade that lasts 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at 8101 FM 762 Road in Richmond. Cost is $5 per person. Call 832-223-0333 for more information.


First Presbyterian Church holds a Fall Festival with games and a haunted house 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday in the Fellowship Hall at 1400 Radio Lane in Rosenberg. There will be "Trunks of Treats" in the parking lot for little ones. 281-342-2076.


Needville Elementary School will hold a Halloween Carnival 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday at 3600 Margaret St. There will booths, prizes, a silent auction, cake walk, pastry booth and a costume contest. Call 979-793-4241 for details.

Free Movie.

A free outdoor showing of the movie "Haunted Mansion" lasts 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Saturday at E.P. Compean Funeral Directors, 1223 Sixth St. in Rosenberg. Free popcorn and candy and the first 20 children in costume receive a gift. Bring blankets and lawn chairs. The Rosenberg Police Department Explorer Group will be there and the Rosenberg Fire Department will display a fire truck.


The youth of Needville United Methodist Church will hold a food drive and an open house with games and refreshments noon to 8 p.m. Sunday at 3322 North St. in Needville. There will be a convenient drive-through to drop off donations. Call 979-793-6185 for more information.


Houston Museum of Natural Science in Sugar Land invites children to Sugar Land Spooktacular to be held 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Children may wear costumes. Museum members pay $5 and non-members are admitted with Museum entrance fee.


First United Methodist Church of Rosenberg invites the community to wear a costume and come Trick-or-Treat in their Pumpkin Patch 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at Third Street and Avenue I in Rosenberg. There will be prizes, also. The Pumpkin Patch will be open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday. Call 281-610-0035 for details.

Safe Halloween.

A free "safe child" Halloween experience with prizes, food and entertainment will last 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Friendship Church Assembly of God, 4640 Richmond-Foster Road in Richmond. Call 281-341-1300 for details.

Fall Festival.

St. Paul's Presbyterian Church of Needville will hold its annual Fall Festival 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday in the fellowship hall at 9122 Church St. Activities will include a bean bag toss, bowling, ring toss, duck pond, "candy in the haystack" scramble, fishing booth, a special dessert walk, and other games and booths, prizes, candy and treats in a safe evening for young and old alike. For those wearing a Halloween costume or those who bring food for the Needville Food Pantry, there will be free chances to win prizes. Call 979-793-4305 for more information.


The Richmond Fire Department and Richmond Walmart will hold a Halloween Carnival for ages 2 -13 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at the fire station, 112 Jackson St. in Richmond. There will be a duck pond, fishing pond, bean bag toss, dart game, pumpkin painting, pony rides, inflatable and more. Games, popcorn and drinks will cost $.25 each. Trunk Treating.

First Baptist Church of Rosenberg will sponsor "Trunks of Treats", an event for the community, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at 1117 First Street.
